We are trying to increase scout participation in fund-raising activities in the troop and ask parents to help. At the present time, less than 30% of the scouts participate in the troop’s fundraisers. The fundraisers pay for the equipment, awards and other costs associated with running the troop. Each scout is expected to participate in every fundraiser. In an effort to increase scout participation, the Patrol Leaders Council, the Scoutmaster Corps and the Troop Committee have voted and agreed that each fundraiser that the troop conducts throughout the year will result in the profit being split 50:50 between the Troop and the individual Scout’s Camp account. The purpose of doing this is to encourage all scouts to participate in every fundraiser. Many scouts earn enough money to pay their own way to summer camp each year.
