BuglerJob Description: The Bugler plays the bugle at troop ceremonies.

Reports to: the assistant senior patrol leader.

Duties

  1. Play bugle as requested by troop leadership.
  2. Play taps during evening closing ceremony.
  3. Practice bugling daily until proficient.
  4. Sets a good example.
  5. Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.
  6. Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
  7. Shows Scout spirit.

Requirements

  1. Recommended by the SPL and approved by the Scoutmaster
  2. Serves for 6 months
  3. Must be active in the troop
  4. Any Scout can serve in this position.

Reports to: the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

Duties

  1. Know by heart the Leave No Trace principles and be able to explain them in detail to others.
  2. Instruct the troop about Leave No Trace principles before outings.
  3. While on outings, ensure that Leave No Trace principles are followed, providing direction and instruction as necessary.
  4. Participate in outings.
  5. Sets a good example.
  6. Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.
  7. Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
  8. Shows Scout spirit.

Requirements

  1. Recommended by the SPL and approved by the Scoutmaster
  2. Serves for 6 months
  3. Must be active in the troop
  4. Any Scout can serve in this position who is 14 years of age or older (13 with Scoutmaster approval).

WebmasterJob Description:  Troop webmasters are responsible for maintaining the troop’s website. They make sure that information posted on the website is correct and up to date and that the privacy of youth and adult troop members is protected. A member of the troop committee should assist them with their work.

Reports to: the assistant senior patrol leader.

Duties

  1. Works with various unit members on needed topics
  2. Ensures the website is as youth-run as possible
  3. Works with the Troop Scribe and Historian.
  4. Maintains the website as needed updating news and articles submitted by troop members, Scribe and Historian.
  5. Maintains the troop's calendar with dates supplied by the Troop Scribe.
  6. Sets a good example.
  7. Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.
  8. Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
  9. Shows Scout spirit.

Requirements

  1. Recommended by the SPL and approved by the Scoutmaster
  2. Serves for 6 months
  3. Must be active in the troop
  4. Any Scout can serve in this position.

JASM patchJob Description: The junior assistant Scoutmaster serves in the capacity an assistant Scoutmaster except where legal age and maturity are required. He must be at least 16 years old and not yet 18. He's appointed by the Scoutmaster because of his leadership ability.

Reports to: the Scoutmaster.

Duties

  1. Functions as an assistant Scoutmaster.
  2. Perfomrs duties as assigned by the Scoutmaster.
  3. Sets a good example.
  4. Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.
  5. Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
  6. Shows Scout spirit.

Requirements

  1. Approinted by the Scoutmaster.
  2. Must be an Eagle Scout.
  3. Must be active in the troop.

DenChiefJob Description: The den chief works with the Cub Scouts, Webelos and Den Leaders in the Cub Scout Pack.

Reports to: the Den Leader in the Pack and the Scoutmaster.

Duties;

  1. Knows the purposes of Cub Scouting.
  2. Helps Cub Scouts advance through Cub Scout ranks.
  3. Encourages Cub Scouts to join a Scouts BSA Troop upon graduation.
  4. Assists with activities in the den meetings.
  5. Is a friend to the Cubs in the den.
  6. Helps out at weekly den meetings and monthly pack meetings.
  7. Meets with adult members of the Den, Pack and Troop as necessary.
  8. Sets a good example.
  9. Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.
  10. Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
  11. Shows Scout spirit.

Requirements

  1. Recommended by the SPL and approved by the Scoutmaster
  2. Serves for 12 months
  3. Must be active in the troop
  4. Any Scout can serve in this position.
